Automated External Defibrillator (AED) - Technician
In line with the Governments initiative AEDs are becoming more widely available, particularly in places where people gather, such as shopping centres, railway stations, airports and large workplaces. This 2 hour programme is designed for those wishing to use the AED in their workplace.
Entry Qualifications
None required.
Course Programme
- First Aid and CPR
- Background briefing on the necessity for de-fibrillation
- Basic heart function and cardio-vascular system
- Practical CPR
- Use of AED
- Introduction to AED and how it works
- Safety precautions
- Using the AED
- Practical CPR and AED session
Certification
A certificate of attendance will be issued to all successful delegates valid for 12 months
This course is offered in-house. It will require the provision of a suitably sized room to allow all candidates adequate space to do the practice sessions.
