By the end of the course you will be able to manage ill and injured babies and children.
This course is aimed at those responsible for looking after babies and children.
This course content has been recognized and approved by the National Child Minding Association & the Pre School Learning Alliance. I work in franchise with The First Aid Training Centre who issue the Ofsted Approved Certificates

The course requires involvement in both theory and practical sessions.

This course is delivered over 12 hours and follows the guidelines of the NCMA;PSLA and OFSTED.

This course is assessed by the trainer by continued assessment.

Role of a First Aider

  • Accident reporting and the First Aid box
  • Incident Planning
  • Casualty Action Plans
  • Dealing with an Unconscious Adult, Child and Baby
  • Resusitation of Adult, Child and Baby
  • Control of Bleeding.
     
    • Head Injuries.
    • Signs, Recognition and Treatment of Medical Conditions.
    • Infant and Child Choking
    • Asthma and Diabetes
    • Seizures, Allergic Reactions and Anaphylactic Shock
    • Shock
    • Management of Burns
    • Sprains, Strains and Fractures
    • Poisoning, bites and stings
    • Eye, nose and ear obstructions
    • Childhood conditions
    • Meningitis and Sickle cell anemia 

      Certificate

      A certificate is awarded to candidates who successfully complete the course continued assessment which is valid for 3 years.

      Duration

      2 days including assessment (or spread over time ie 3 x 4hours)
